Pursuit Speech Pathology is owned and operated by Speech Pathologist, Kate Brown.
Kate graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Speech Pathology) with First Class Honours. Upon graduating, Kate was awarded the Speech Pathology Australia Award for Most Outstanding Clinical Performance. Kate was also awarded a position on the Vice Chanecellor's List for performing within the top 1% of all students at Curtin University.
Kate is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist as recognised by Speech Pathology Australia. She is registered as a Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) Early Intervention Service Provider for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Kate has completed basic DIR/Floortime training, which can be used in the management of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other language delays. Kate is also a PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained therapist, which is an evidence-based approach used in the management of children with speech sound disorders.
During her career, Kate has worked primarily in the private sector, providing services to children with a diverse range of speech and language difficulties. Kate has a particular passion for early language development and speech sound disorders, and has extensive experience working with children aged 1-6 years. She is dedicated to making a difference to the communication abilities of children to enable them to participate more fully in the world around them.
